Email from Ford

Okay, I admit I was bored.

I emailed the Ford Motor Company about advertising Derek Jeter on SNY. The reply was pretty generic, which was probably to be expected.

Ford Motor CompanyMain Topic: SalesAdvertisingEmail Questions: There is such a thing as bad publicity. Seeing Derek Jeter advertise your product on SNY (The TV Home of the New York Mets) only makes me think bad things about Ford and the Ford Edge. Every time I see one I think to myself "I hate that car". The commercials run at least once per commercial break it seems, and the audience is at least 95% biased against the spokesperson in question. Seems like a bad decision to me. An Apple a Day

Little Bit of Silliness

I am always multi-tasking, so it's rare when I sit down and just focus on the game. This goes doubly for the commercials, but I saw one on SNY during the game the other day and I was amused. They were advertising Mets tickets and the line was “Come see the Apple at Shea!”. I couldn't help but think, “What, are the Mets that bad that they don't say 'Come see Reyes' or 'Come see Wright' they go with the decrepit Apple?!”

Watching the Game

I'm way more excited about grabbing a beer (homebrew), sitting on the couch in 30 minutes, and watching Johan Santana pitch for the Mets in Spring Training. But it's a good way to warm up for the same event in a little over a month.

I'm also way too excited about hearing Keith, Ron, and Gary again. I don't even know if they're all doing this first game.

Mustache?

Apparently, the first 25000 fans attending Friday night's game against the Phillies will receive an SNY Mustache.

Interesting promotion, Maybe they can have other similar promotions and we can all sneak back into the dugout aka Bobby Valentine.
